About Your Stay

Recreational activities at Nettles Nest include swimming, fishing, paddleboating, kayaking, hiking, horseshoes, washers, camp fires, and wildlife/bird watching.

The rustically decorated cabin is furnished with a queen size bed, futon, dining table and chairs, nightstands, end table, chest of drawers, and wall mount TV with DVD player and a large selection of movies. (no satellite tv currently).  The kitchenette includes refrigerator, Nu-wave cooktop, microwave, toaster oven, electric skillet, coffee maker, waffle iron, blender, dishes, and utensils.  A gas grill and 2 charcoal grills are available for outdoor cooking.  The bathroom has been completely remodeled.  Outdoor amenities include a pavilion with picnic tables and 2 hammocks, fishing dock, and deck with table and chairs overlooking the lake. We also have a fire ring for campfires.  Some firewood provided, more available if you want to walk around in the woods around the cabin.

Bottled water, coffee, and snacks are provided.

Spring Market (Brookshires), Redwater Diner, a Shell convenience store, a Dollar General, bank, and post office are all located within one mile. Texarkana, with its many dining and shopping options, is just 15 minutes away. A unique Amish furniture store with grocery pantry is located about 6 miles away. Two bait shops, each located about 5 miles away, are close enough to get bait if you want to fish. Scottie’s Grill, a popular fish/seafood restaurant and bar is about 5 miles away on Hwy 67 heading towards Texarkana.
