About Your Stay

Recreational activities at Nettles Nest include swimming, fishing, boating, paddleboating, kayaking, hiking, horseshoes, washers, camp fires, and wildlife/bird watching.

The rustically decorated cabin is furnished with a queen size bed, futon, dining table and chairs, nightstands, end table, chest of drawers, and wall mount TV with DVD player and a large selection of movies. (no satellite tv currently).  The kitchenette includes refrigerator, Nu-wave cooktop, microwave, toaster oven, electric skillet, coffee maker, waffle iron, blender, dishes, and utensils.  A charcoal grill is available for outdoor cooking.  The bathroom has been completely remodeled.  Outdoor amenities include a pavilion, fishing dock, and deck with table and chairs overlooking the lake.

Bottled water, coffee, and snacks are provided.

Spring Market (Brookshires), Redwater Diner, a Shell convenience store, a Dollar General, bank, and post office are all located within one mile. Texarkana, with its many dining and shopping options, is just 15 minutes away. A unique Amish furniture store with grocery pantry is located about 6 miles away. Two bait shops, each located about 5 miles away, are close enough to get bait if you want to fish. Scottie’s Grill, a popular fish/seafood restaurant and bar is about 5 miles away on Hwy 67 heading towards Texarkana.
