About Your Stay

Recreational activities at Nettles Nest include swimming, fishing(bring your own gear), paddle boating, kayaking, mountain biking (two bikes provided), horseshoes, washers, corn hole, camp fires, picnicking, and wildlife/bird watching.  No parties or large group events are allowed.

We are pet friendly.  We must know in advance if you are bringing a pet or pets with you and how many.   We allow 2 pets at no additional charge. After that, there is a $30 additional pet fee per pet.  Maximum number of pets allowed is 4. We do not allow pets on the bed or futon.  If you choose to disregard this, you will be charged a cleaning fee.

Our cabin is finished with a rustic charm and includes a queen size bed, futon, dining table and chairs, nightstands, end table,  and wall mount TV with DVD player and a large selection of movies. Satellite TV and Wi-Fi is not currently available.  The kitchenette includes refrigerator, Nu-wave cooktop, microwave, toaster oven, electric skillet, coffee maker, waffle iron,  dishes, and utensils.  Outdoor cooking is convenient with a gas grill and charcoal grill under a small, lighted pavilion.  Additional outdoor amenities include a large pavilion with picnic tables, a hammock(seasonal), fishing dock, campfire ring (just add S’mores!), and a deck with table and chairs overlooking the lake. Some firewood is provided for the campfire; more is available if you want to walk around in the woods near the cabin.

Bottled water, coffee, and snacks are provided.

Spring Market (Brookshires), an Exxon convenience store, Dollar General, a bank, and a post office are all located within one mile. Texarkana, with its many dining and shopping options, is just 15 minutes away. A unique Amish furniture store with grocery pantry is located about 6 miles away. Two bait shops, each located about 5 miles away, are close enough to get bait if you want to fish. 67 Landing is a popular fish/seafood restaurant with bar and is about 5 miles away on Hwy 67 heading towards Texarkana.
